Damp wood, incense, clean linen—the typical scent of an old Japanese wooden house in the Aoyama district, as evoked by Sonya Park. An exquisite and ultra-chic fragrance of patchouli (the damp wood effect), smoky wood (Guaiac and Vetiver), and clove. A moss accord accentuates the sensation of freshness. Contains essences of Clove, Guaiac Wood, Vetiver, Patchouli, Hinoki Accord and Moss Accord. Fragrance created with Françoise Caron.
It is on the island of Awaji, thanks to its favorable climate, that the best incense in the world is found. According to a tradition spanning over a thousand years, passed down from father to son, it is handcrafted by Koh-shis, or masters of aromas. They alone perfectly master the four stages of production: measuring out exclusively natural ingredients—precious woods, herbs and plants, plant resins, and fragrance. Kneading the paste, which is pressed and worked for a long time, then left to rest for two weeks to fully absorb the fragrance. Cutting the paste into long, narrow ribbons to the desired size. Drying in the West Wind for three days, then bundling the sticks.
30-minute burn time each.
