In the painter's studio, all paneled in wood, time seems suspended. Through the large glass roof with a view of the verdant alpine pasture, the Northern light pours its streams like powder over the brushes, palettes, tubes, paint pots, sketched canvases, and rags still soaked in linseed oil. The intoxicating scent of turpentine essence floats in the air, mingled with delightful smoky, honeyed, woody aromas of tobacco and cedar. Contains essences of Spanish Turpentine, Texas Cedar, and Indonesian Patchouli. Fragrance created with Alexandra Monet.
It is on the island of Awaji, thanks to its favorable climate, that the best incense on the planet is found. According to a tradition of over a thousand years passed down from father to son, it is handcrafted by the Koh-shis or masters of aromas. They alone perfectly master the four stages of production: measuring out exclusively natural ingredients—precious woods, herbs and plants, vegetable resins, and fragrance. Kneading the paste, which is pressed and worked for a long time, then left to rest for two weeks to thoroughly absorb the fragrance. Cutting the paste into long, narrow ribbons of the desired size. Drying in the West Wind for three days, then bundling the sticks.
30-minute burn time each.
