Lost in the Swiss Alps, in the heart of a peaceful little village, the Grand Chalet stands with its imposing and magnificent all-wood structure. There, in this unique landscape with its beneficial climate, the painter Balthus established his home and delighted in the milky, honeyed, slightly lemony scents of the centuries-old linden tree bordering his studio. Today, like a wonderful memory, its favorite fragrance once again permeates these places. Contains essences of Mimosa, Green Leaves, Bergamot, Linden Flowers, Heliotrope, Sandalwood, and Musk. Fragrance created with Setsuko Klossowska de Rola and Françoise Caron.
It is on Awaji Island, thanks to its favorable climate, that the best incense on the planet is found. According to a tradition of over a thousand years passed down from father to son, it is handcrafted by the Koh-shis or masters of aromas. They alone perfectly master the four stages of production: measuring out exclusively natural ingredients—precious woods, herbs and plants, plant resins, and fragrance. Kneading the paste, which is pressed and worked for a long time, then left to rest for two weeks to fully absorb the fragrance. Cutting the paste into long, narrow strips of the desired size. Drying in the West wind for three days, then bundling the sticks.
30-minute burn time each.
