Bordering the artist studios with wide-open windows overlooking the rooftops of Rome, the Villa’s majestic gardens unfold. A place for encounters and contemplation, its inhabitants delight in the subtle scents of lemon leaves, lavender, and oregano flowers. The air vibrates with the woody note of the great surrounding cedars and that, indescribable, of ancient stones under the heat of the sun. Contains essences of Italian Lemon, Clove, Oregano, Myrtle, Clary Sage, Lavandin, Mugwort, Rosemary, Cedar, Vetiver, and Patchouli. Fragrance created with Françoise Caron.
It is on Awaji Island, thanks to its favorable climate, that the finest incense in the world is found. According to a tradition spanning over a thousand years passed down from father to son, it is handcrafted by the Koh-shis, or masters of aromas. They alone perfectly master the four stages of production: measuring out exclusively natural ingredients—precious woods, herbs and plants, plant resins, and fragrance. Kneading the paste, which is pressed and worked for a long time, then left to rest for two weeks to fully absorb the fragrance. Cutting the paste, rolled into long, narrow ribbons, to the desired size. Drying in the West Wind for three days, then bundling the sticks.
30-minute burn time each.
